Environment
Cottages on the Creek is a member of Land for Wildlife (QLD) "A voluntary nature conservation program which aims to support the maintenance and enhancement of native habitat on 'private' and community owned land."
Birds and wildlife abound on the 2 hectares (5 acres) of lush subtropical rainforest neighbouring Currumbin Creek.
Eco Friendly Design
Cottages On the Creek have been designed and built to reduce our impact on the environment. Get an aerial view of Cottages on the Creek.
Termite resistant timbers such as Camphor Laurel and Cypress Pine are used, so no chemical spraying is needed, and adobe rendering for additional insulation is also pleasing to the eye.
Environmentally friendly toilets ensure that Currumbin Creek just a few metres away, isn't polluted. See if you can spot native wildlife including platypus (54k), turtles, catfish and yabbies swimming lazily in the babbling waters.

Native Plant Gardens
Recycled household food scraps and compost is used to fertilize the plantings of local area native trees, shrubs and bushtucker plants which provide living habitats for native birds and local wildlife.
Look out for black cockatoos, whipbirds and honey eaters come to feast on the nectar and seeds of native trees and shrubs in our specially planted native gardens, which includes more than ten declared endangered or rare native bushtucker species.
